Understand the Unknown.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • This outline is probably similar for most photo & video crews. But, to elaborate on our approach for your day, we have two shooting styles we implement into our workflow. Some are shots that are posed and others are totally spontaneous. We love to be able to let our couples be themselves and implicitly make you feel the most comfortable.

From the start of the day, we will show up in the morning to the bridal parties getting ready location, or the groom's getting ready location if we have two shooters. Once we’ve arrived and introduced ourselves to everyone, we will start by gathering up your details (rings, shoes, flowers, letters, invitations, etc.). For grooms, this can be their suit, tie, shoes, cuff links, bow tie and boutonniere.

Once, the bride is ready to get dressed, we will get some portraits with her and all the bridesmaids (now is the chance to pop the bubbly!) After these we will give the bride a moment to get into her dress, then take some portraits of mom (or designated helper) fastening the back. This point is a semi-staged series of shots. We will put you in place and then leave you alone to interact naturally while putting on your jewelry, veil, and shoes. When you are completely dressed, we will take the time to capture the bride alone, with important people, and of course bridal parties (if you are wanting a first look with dad this is usually the perfect moment to do so before we leave the getting ready area!)

The same will happen with the groom. When he is ready to put on his tie and cuff links, we will move him into the best possible light and bring in Dad or the best man to help. This will be our chance to get some candids and posed portraits of the groom with all his groomsmen.

Now comes the First look. A 'first look' is when the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony. It's the first time you see each other all dressed up on your wedding day in a private intimate moment. If you do plan on having a first look we will have the chance to get more portraits and bridal party portraits, so those on the fence, keep this in mind!

During the ceremony, focus on the moment and your spouse, that’s the whole reason for the day! We will capture everything in the rawest moment possible. Including, all the details and guests present.

After the ceremony we go right into Family group shots. Family group shots are best taken right after the ceremony in front of the arbor or wherever you stood to say “I Do”. Otherwise, people tend to vanish. This is also where our shot list we ask you to complete for us, comes in handy. This way we can efficiently capture everyone in one go, and no one of importance gets left out. (ex. Bride, Groom, Brides Mom, Brides Dad) and any further combinations you could imagine or want.

It can help to have a family wrangler or extroverted bridesmaid to yell out and get everyone to come for their photos. Every family has one loud person who is good at that sort of thing. This helps us so much, especially if our second shooter is capturing cocktail hour or reception details.

  • If we haven’t gotten to take wedding party photos this is when we will devote our time to bridal party shots. I love to take traditional wedding party photos and as well as relaxed wedding party photos. Then finish off with some perfect lit, golden hour couples portraits!

Bride and groom portraits are our absolute favorite time of the day, this is the time where most people are at cocktail hour or just enjoying their time with everyone. Usually, brides and grooms prefer outdoor natural light photography for their portraits (and so do we). We will start with a few traditional shots with you looking directly at the camera. Then the rest of the images will be more relaxed and modern. We will encourage you to interact with each other rather than look at a camera. We like to encourage movement and natural expressions of happiness and love. At times we will intervene a little more to pose you in a way that is most flattering. We promise to have you both laughing and being your truest self!

Next up, Reception Entrance, First Dances, Speeches and The Party… We will shoot your entrance, first dances, and any speeches that will take place. You can ignore us throughout these moments, we prefer to be “a fly on the wall” during these moments.

We prefer to shoot candids of your guests rather than "table shots" where each table poses as a group. If you want table shots please let me know and we can make our rounds.

If at any point anyone needs specific photos (moms, dads, uncles, aunts, great great second aunts, etc. please come find us to snag those shots during the reception!)

Once the first dances, toasts, and dinner service is complete, Let’s cut the Cake! During this moment, we will position you in the best light and ensure you are properly cutting the cake so that we can see both bride and groom.

During the open dance floor, party your little hearts out! Be you, drink it up and enjoy the band. This is where we will get some of our more creative and artistic shots of the dance floor and any accessories y’all might pass around to the guests.

    Lastly, the exit!

This will depend on your timeline and how many hours you booked, but we do love a good exit, even if it's just all your friends piling on you for a group hug, a private last dance, a sparkler exit to a classic car, or any creative idea you designate!

  • Documenting some of the most important moments of your life through photo is always a must, but imagine reliving your wedding day through a video as well.

Your wedding day goes by in the blink of an eye, one moment your getting make up finished, then you blink and you're on the dance floor dancing the night away.

Having a photo-video team from one house, ensures the smoothest flow to capturing your day, while also saving on your budget!

  • One of the most popular asked questions we have gotten since we started this journey! A Wedding Film, isn’t just a video, a recording, or a social media post… It is a personalized, unique, and cinematic version of reliving the most important day of your life.

It is something you can share with family members and friends who couldn’t make it to the Wedding, or even share it for the world to see. BUT, our most cherished reasoning for a Wedding Film is watching it after years and years of marriage and seeing how in love you were with your spouse that day. Seeing how they looked at you, how they talked about you, the vows they said, and the pure emotion expressed!

Even after years, time, events in your life, wrinkles, and more. You’ll still be able to look back and see the purest and earliest form of your love on the day you committed yourselves to each other.

  • We are a team. Life partners and a family-based business.

We do have second shooters we enjoy working with, but for the past few years we have realized not everyone you work with will be pleasant or operate as well as your life partner.

For the days we need to bring our second shooter, we have hand picked and personally trained each person. Just to ensure that your wedding day is as happy and memorable as possible.

  • We LOVE audio! It is an absolute must, audio makes up for almost half of the editing process. So be prepared to be mic'd up! It might be strange, but we promise it will be worth it and you will all do fine. (Just be careful around the groomsmen when your mic is recording... they get a little rowdy) Another is our cameras will capture ambient audio. If we turn a radio down or ask for people to leave a room, it’s not to be rude, we are just ensuring you don't hear the noise in your final film!

Wearing a mic is super easy and not uncomfortable at all, we can almost guarantee you will forget its even there... Trust us, we've forgotten a few times too and had to reach out the day after to get it back. Another point of audio is attaching our recoding equipment to the DJ or bands speakers or soundboards! So, if you are having either one, please let them know ahead of time that we would love to meet them and ask to tap into their speakers or soundboards. Lastly, we record through 2 - 3 sources (Lavalier Mic, Lavier Wireless Mic, & Soundboard) If you find yourself with one or two mics on, we promise it’s just to ensure these moments do not go missing, or unheard.

  • We are humans and understand that life is sometimes a little hectic. So, we love to ask for a 50% retainer fee to secure your date, while the remainder can be paid in up to 4 payments.

We are willing to set up payment plans, just let us know what would work best for you!

  • Your travel fee is included in the packaging estimate sent! What you receive in your wedding contract proposal is all you pay, no additional or hidden fees! Most of the time we do not add on additional fees, unless we need to fly and stay in a hotel for your wedding.

  • YES! I know it all seems like a lot during the initial planning and countless bookings you are coordinating. Just know, the only thing we can’t add on after the wedding date, is extra time spent with you on that day!

  • We send over a free and secure link of all your video collections, through a website called “Vidflow” that allows you to always have access to stream or download your videos!

  • We dual record to our cameras (giving us two identical copies while shooting). Then once we are home those files are stored to two separate hard drives, to dropbox, and to iCloud. (giving us copies on two separate physical storage devices and two separate cloud storage devices.)

  • We have a 7-14 day turnaround time. (Legally contracted 8-12 weeks) but we love riding the wave of excitement after the wedding day and getting everything back to you as quickly as possible to relive those memories for the rest of your life!

  • We always say, “if you can use an iPhone, you can fly a drone” (kind of like if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball). There are so many advances in technology that these things almost fly themselves and make for such an incredible depth to a wedding film. I also, offer drone options for all outdoor ceremonies. (check our Cancun Wedding Film for the most recent drone interactions).

  • For legal purposes, all music must be licensed to use. We do have final say in the song choice, but recommendations are greatly appreciated. You can go to www.musicbed.com to view their selection and give me back a few you loved!

  • Not many couples ask this question, but it has been asked a few times. My entire gear list can be found HERE.

We shoot on Canon R6 cameras with a 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and a 70-200mm lens (all used for specific purposes).

For audio, we love the Rode wireless go ii mics with tascam dr-10l lab mics. (these help us receive audio straight to our camera).

We currently have a Mavic mini 3 pro drone, that is so small and sleek you can’t even hear it or see it in the sky.

  • 1,000% yes, we use lighting mainly for the reception to create depth and achieve the best quality image for toasts & dances. Sometimes, we will have to use them during the ceremony. It may seem like a dreadful idea at first, but I can show you the difference in quality if you are concerned! Also, our lights are very clean, discreet and almost always unnoticeable!
